Mark received his JD from the University of Miami School of Law where he graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. While in law school, he received a number of academic awards including three Dean’s Honors, two CALI Awards for Excellence, and selection for the Dean’s List each semester. He was invited to join UM Law Review after his 1L year and sat on the editorial board as an Associate Comments Editor. His article, Exclusive Groove, discussing issues affecting music copyright was chosen for direct publication in Volume 71 of the journal. The paper was also selected for republication in the international law magazine Entertainment distributed by the Bruxellois publishing house Éditions Bruylant. He is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Entertainment, Sports, and Arts Law at his alma mater and received the Dean’s Scholar Award for exceptional performance in the program.
Mark is also a passionate creative. Before joining the legal profession, he pursued a career in music and has played in bands, operated recording studios, and produced music since he was a teenager. He’s composed and produced dozens of original solo and collaborative releases across an eclectic variety of genres including indie-rock, jazz, and electronic music. Guitar is his primary instrument, but he has proficiency on bass, piano, synthesizer, and percussion. He’s also a fervent vinyl collector, maintaining and regularly expanding a collection of over 350 classic records. Mark is an avid writer of poetry and short stories as well and is finalizing his first feature length screenplay, which he hopes to begin shopping for development in the coming year.
In addition to his work with LNK Law, Mark is a senior manager and director of expert-system content at InFront Compliance, Inc. His work with InFront focuses on translating complex regulatory frameworks into plain-language compliance assessments for use by businesses, advisors, and consultants and ensuring that the content is always up to date with recent regulatory releases. He has developed significant expertise in the areas of cybersecurity, information privacy, and financial services compliance including CMMC, CCPA, and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
